Our Story
Born in Latin America, Built for It
We named ourselves after Amerigo Vespucci — the Florentine navigator who, in 1499, sailed south along coastlines no European had ever charted. He was the first to understand that what Columbus had reached was not the edge of Asia, but an entirely new world. In 1507, that world was named after him: America. We carry that name as a responsibility.
Amerigo the agency began in 2016 when our founders — a travel specialist and a software architect, both based in San José — realized they were solving the same problem from opposite ends. Travelers wanted more than packaged tours. Hospitality businesses wanted more than generic software vendors. Both needed a partner who actually understood the region.
We started with a single boutique hotel in Costa Rica and a handful of custom journeys for clients who'd grown tired of the usual itineraries. Eight years later, we operate across 12 countries, have delivered technology projects for 40+ hospitality clients, and have guided thousands of travelers through Latin America's most extraordinary places.
What hasn't changed is the conviction that brought us here — and that brought Vespucci here five centuries before us: this region rewards those who take the time to understand it. We do.

Adrián García
Adrián García spent nearly a decade at Amazon, where he led technology and operations initiatives across Latin America — building the infrastructure and digital systems that helped the company scale across one of the world's most complex and diverse regions.
In 2014, he co-founded Carao Ventures, Costa Rica's first dedicated early-stage venture capital firm, backing technology startups across Central America and helping establish San José as a serious hub for tech entrepreneurship in the region.
He currently serves as Chief Information Officer of Boena Lodges, a premium eco-lodge group operating in Costa Rica's most biodiverse corridors — where he oversees the technology strategy, digital guest experience, and operational systems that define the brand.
Amerigo is the synthesis of everything Adrián has built: deep regional roots, enterprise-grade technical capability, and a genuine belief that Latin America's hospitality industry deserves better technology partners than it typically gets.
What We Stand For
Our Principles
Regional Depth Over Surface Coverage
We don't claim to know everywhere. We know Latin America — its infrastructure, its culture, its business environment, its rhythms. That specificity is our edge.
Honest Counsel
We tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. If a technology investment won't deliver ROI, we say so. If a destination isn't right for a traveler, we say that too.
Execution Over Advice
Strategy without delivery is just a document. We build, integrate, and ship — and we stay engaged until the work is actually working.
Long-Term Relationships
Our best clients have been with us for years. We're not optimizing for the transaction — we're building partnerships that compound over time.
